Jo joined Bell Lax as a Solicitor in the Commercial Litigation team in May 2018, immediately upon completion of her Training Contract.
Before converting to law, Jo obtained an honours degree in Psychology at the University of Birmingham and was a Technical Author writing help systems and user guides for various software clients. She was also a Non-executive Board Member of a local Housing Association, using a wide range of skills to help steer the organisation through a time of significant change.
Jo studied the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Birmingham. She was first in her year in Equity & Trusts on the Graduate Diploma in Law, and she achieved a Distinction on the Legal Practice Course.
During her training contract, she thoroughly enjoyed gaining all round experience, including seats in Litigation, Employment and Commercial Property, which she considers to be very helpful for her specialism in Commercial Litigation at Bell Lax. She works on a wide variety of disputes as part of the team.
In her spare time, Jo loves to spend time with her husband and daughters having debates around the dinner table! She enjoys reading modern classics, arthouse films and holidays with the family.
