FOOTBALLER DIVORCE
The former Manchester United footballer Ryan Giggs is embroiled in a dispute over money after the breakdown of his marriage to his wife Stacey Giggs.
Mr Giggs is claiming that he should have a larger share of the matrimonial assets then his ex-wife, due to his extraordinary contribution to the marital wealth.
It is open to either party on the breakdown of a marriage to inform the Court that they believe that the marital assets should be split in their favour due to their special contribution.
We will have to wait to see whether the Court is of the opinion that being a footballer (albeit maybe an exceptional footballer) constitutes a special contribution.
