Drayton Manor Park tragedy

A few days ago it was reported that an 11 year old girl had tragically died from injuries sustained after an incident on the Splash Canyon water ride at Drayton Manor Park.  Our thoughts and condolences go out to her family, friends and teachers at what must be such a difficult time for all of them.

It is worth noting that Drayton Manor Park has had an excellent health and safety record since it opened in the 1940s.  The incident does however, remind us that when things do go wrong at amusement parks, the impact can be devastating.  It was only back in 2015 that several people were seriously injured on the “Smiler” ride at Alton Towers including 2 young women who required leg amputations.

At Bell Lax, we are able to provide specialist advice to people injured in serious accidents, including those at amusement and theme parks.  Because the injuries sustained are often life-changing, it is important that an experienced serious injury solicitor is engaged.  Any compensation received will need to cover extensive expenses which will be incurred in the future on medical treatment, rehabilitation and in some cases the adaptation or purchase of suitable accommodation.

If you think we may be able to help you, call us today on 0121 355 0011 and speak to Stuart Andrews or one of his team.
