Necrotising Fasciitis

This condition is also known as “flesh-eating disease” but is actually caused by bacteria releasing toxins which then damage tissue.

If you have had an accident or if you have undergone a surgical procedure, in rare circumstances you might suffer from this serious bacterial infection.  At Bell Lax, we have experience of dealing with claims for people who have developed this infection following surgery and/or other treatment in hospital.  Where this has been caused by the negligence of medical professionals, you may be entitled to claim compensation for the injury caused and the associated losses which you incur.

The consequences of such infections can be very extensive and in some cases the infection is life-threatening.  The infection can progress very quickly and lead to:

  • Death (1 or 2 in every 5 cases is fatal);
  • Amputation;
  • Long-term disability;
  • Organ Failure;
  • Blood Poisoning (Sepsis).

If you are unfortunate enough to experience this condition you may need surgery to improve the appearance of the area which has been affected by the infection and/or rehabilitation to help you to adapt to your disability.

At Bell Lax, we are able to guide you through this and ensure you receive the compensation you deserve and assistance with your recovery.  A qualified injury lawyer will deal with your claim throughout.
