Before pursuing a career in law, Philippa read commerce at the University of Birmingham where she graduated with a first class degree. After taking several law modules and undertaking some work experience at a local solicitors’ firm, Philippa decided to combine her knowledge of the business environment with law. Philippa feels that having studied commerce she will be well placed to identify and acknowledge business needs quickly.
Following several months travelling in Australia and New Zealand, Philippa went on to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at Birmingham City University, where she was awarded distinctions in both courses. Her elective subjects were Commercial Law and Practice, Employment Law and Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. Philippa also took a keen interest in mooting while at university and went on to represent Birmingham City University in the ICLR National Mooting competition.
Philippa is currently in the commercial department and to date has worked on cases involving contract disputes, professional negligence and employment law.
Philippa enjoys travelling, photography and sports, including tennis and badminton.
