Kirsty-Ann read law at Warwick University where she gained an upper second class honours degree. After graduating, Kirsty-Ann went on to obtain a distinction on the Legal Practice Course, completing electives in Commercial Law, Employment Law and Family Law.
Since joining the firm in September 2010 Kirsty-Ann has taken on many claims on a ‘no win, no fee’ basis including professional negligence, misrepresentation, breach of contract and claims under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Kirsty-Ann also acts on behalf of defendants, handles shareholder disputes, debt collection matters and most recently has been instructed on a claim involving a substantial planning application.
Currently Kirsty-Ann is enjoying working on high value insurance disputes and commercial contract claims, recently resolving a substantial marine insurance case following a mediation which continued late into the night.
Kirsty-Ann is a strong believer in exploring Alternative Dispute Resolution as a way to settle disputes and has successfully settled many cases at without prejudice meetings, mediations or simply through tough negotiating over the phone. She has settled construction disputes, consumer credit claims and professional negligence cases, successfully negotiated damages and costs on behalf of her clients. Kirsty-Ann has handled cases from start to finish including drafting letters of claim, Particulars of Claim and Defences, issuing claims at court and appearing before court at numerous Case Management Conferences.
Kirsty-Ann also has a keen interest in Employment Law and recently successfully appeared as advocate at a two day Employment Tribunal trial concerning issues of wrongful and unfair dismissal. The case required Kirsty-Ann to present a careful and detailed interpretation of the law and cross examine numerous witnesses whose evidence conflicted. Following judgment in the client’s favour the judge commended Kirsty’s advocacy skills.
