Angela qualified in 1982, joining the litigation department of one of the largest Birmingham firms. She was a partner from 1990 and head of the contentious Asset Finance Team. She was recognised as one of the leading individuals outside London in the field of Asset Finance Litigation by Chambers Legal Directory.
Angela retains a keen interest in general commercial litigation and is a Consultant at the firm assisting in the most complex of matters. She was one of the first lawyers to utilise mediation to resolve disputes in the finance industry and worked with a number of household names in the lending industry in delivering training on new legislation and procedures. Angela was also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
For many years she was one of her firm's designated training partners and enjoys encouraging trainees and young solicitors to develop their legal careers. At Bell Lax she is responsible for running the firm's trainee recruitment and helping with career development.
Angela manages the firm's quality accreditation. Bell Lax was one of the first firms in the West Midlands to gain the Law Society's Lexcel management standard. Angela ensures, through Lexcel, that all personnel in the practice have the skills, knowledge and experience to fulfill their roles.
Angela still plays tennis, is experimenting with golf for when she can no longer play tennis and supports Everton FC.
